What is Shot Blasting?

Shot blasting is a mechanical surface preparation method that propels steel shot at the concrete surface at high velocity, simultaneously removing laitance, contaminants, and old coatings while creating an ideal bonding profile. The process is self-contained and virtually dust-free — spent shot and debris are recovered by the machine as it moves — making it ideal for occupied facilities and food-grade environments. We use shot blasting to achieve consistent CSP 3–5 profiles across large floor areas quickly, so coatings, toppings, and overlayments bond permanently to the slab.
