Fast. Durable. Cold-Cure Performance.
MMA flooring systems cure in just hours, not days — even in freezing conditions. Designed for time-sensitive or cold environments, MMA systems deliver seamless, chemical-resistant performance with unmatched installation speed.
What is a MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) System?
Methyl methacrylate (MMA) is a rapid-curing, UV-stable, and highly durable resin flooring system ideal for commercial and industrial spaces requiring minimal downtime. MMA resin chemically fuses to itself between layers and cures in as little as 1 hour per coat, allowing for full system installation — primer, broadcast, body coat, and topcoat — in a single day.
Unlike traditional epoxy or urethane systems, MMA can be installed in temperatures as low as -20°F, making it ideal for cold storage, freezer floors, and fast-track projects. It also offers excellent chemical resistance, UV stability, and long-term durability, with available finishes ranging from smooth to heavily textured, depending on the environment.
Why chose a MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) System
Rapid Return to Service
MMA flooring systems cure in as little as 1 hour per coat, allowing full system installation and traffic readiness within a single day. Ideal for facilities that can’t afford extended shutdowns.Cold Temperature Installation
MMA can be installed in sub-zero conditions (down to -20°F), making it one of the only resin systems suitable for freezer rooms, cold storage, and exterior applications in winter.Outstanding Chemical Resistance
MMA systems are highly resistant to acids, alkalis, solvents, oils, fats, and aggressive cleaning agents — making them ideal for food, chemical, and pharmaceutical facilities.UV Stable and Non-Yellowing
Unlike most epoxies, MMA resins are UV-resistant and won’t amber or degrade in sunlit or outdoor environments.High Strength and Abrasion Resistance
Despite their fast cure, MMA systems offer excellent compressive and tensile strength, making them suitable for forklift traffic, rolling loads, and abrasive cleaning.Permanent Interlayer Bonding
MMA chemically fuses to itself between coats — even after full cure — eliminating the risk of delamination over time.Slip Resistance and Texture Control
Quartz or flake can be broadcast into MMA for slip resistance or design flexibility. Traction levels can be customized to meet OSHA or facility safety requirements.Thermal Flexibility
MMA resins expand and contract with temperature changes, reducing stress on the substrate in variable environments like kitchens or loading docks.Ideal for Phased Construction
Because it bonds chemically between phases, MMA is perfect for night work, weekend installs, or multi-day buildouts without compromising system integrity.Hygienic and Seamless
Nonporous, monolithic finish prevents bacterial growth and supports USDA, FDA, and GMP facility requirements with ease of cleaning and full sanitation compatibility.

Our Process (How We Install Methyl methacrylate (MMA) Systems)
1. Surface Preparation
We mechanically grind or shot blast the concrete to CSP 3–5 to ensure proper bonding. Edges and hard-to-reach areas are detailed, then the surface is cleaned and vacuumed dust-free.
2. Crack and Joint Treatment
All cracks, joints, and spalls are repaired using MMA-compatible patching materials. Control joints are honored or bridged as required.
3. Primer Application
A low-viscosity MMA primer is applied and chemically bonds to the concrete. It’s typically ready for the next coat in 45–60 minutes, allowing fast project progression.
Step 4. MMA Body Coat Application
A self-leveling MMA body coat is applied at 80–120 mils depending on the system. Each layer fuses chemically with the next, creating a strong, monolithic floor.
Step 5. Optional Quartz or Flake Broadcast
To create a slip-resistant or decorative surface, flake or quartz can be fully broadcast into the body coat before sealing. This enhances safety and visual appeal in wet or public environments.
7. Return to Service
The floor is ready for light traffic within 1–2 hours after final topcoat cure — far faster than any other resin flooring system on the market.
6. MMA Topcoat Installation
A UV- and chemical-resistant MMA topcoat is applied to seal the system. Cure time is under 1 hour, even in cold conditions. Gloss, satin, or textured finishes are available.
