Sleek. Durable. Timeless.

Polished concrete brings out the natural beauty of your slab while delivering unmatched durability and low maintenance for both homes and businesses.

What is a Polished Concrete System?

Polished concrete is a mechanical grinding and honing process that transforms raw concrete into a smooth, reflective, and long-lasting surface. Using progressively finer diamond tooling, we refine the surface to your desired sheen — from soft matte to high gloss.

Unlike coatings, polished concrete becomes part of the slab itself. It’s densified, hardened, and sealed for long-term wear resistance, making it ideal for interior spaces that need both style and strength.

A modern interior room with light-colored flooring, black cabinetry, large glass sliding doors with curtains, and a view of outdoor greenery and hills.

Why chose a Polished Concrete System

  • Long-Lasting Finish – Mechanically refined surface that won’t peel or flake

  • Low Maintenance – Easy to clean, no waxing or sealing required

  • Stain & Wear Resistant – Densifier and guard protect against spills and foot traffic

  • Customizable Sheen – Choose matte, satin, or high-gloss

  • Eco-Friendly – No coatings, low VOC, and part of the slab

  • Cost-Effective Over Time – Extremely low life-cycle cost

Our Process (How We Install Polished Concrete Systems)

1. Site Evaluation and Slab Assessment

We begin by inspecting the slab for signs of damage, patchwork, moisture issues, or prior coatings. We assess flatness, hardness, and overall surface condition to determine polishing viability and plan the ideal approach. Special attention is given to areas with foot traffic patterns, interior design features, or lighting that will influence visual results.

2. Surface Preparation / Initial Grinding

We use planetary grinders with 30–70 grit metal-bond diamonds to remove surface contaminants, old sealers, or adhesives. In residential and light commercial settings, a light to medium grind is preferred to preserve a smooth “cream” finish or achieve a subtle salt-and-pepper look. Grind depth and exposure level are customized based on design preferences.

3. Joint and Crack Repair (As Needed)

Minor cracks and joints are cleaned and filled with color-matched or clear semi-rigid fillers to ensure a smooth, finished appearance. Unlike industrial jobs, patching is often more cosmetic in nature, and we take care to blend repairs seamlessly into surrounding areas, especially in open-concept living or showroom spaces.

4. Intermediate Grinding / Smoothing

We continue refining the surface using 80–100 grit metal-bond diamonds. This removes visible scratches and starts to tighten the surface, giving the slab a more uniform tone and texture. In decorative settings, this step is where clarity and color uniformity begin to take shape.

5. Densifier Application

We apply a sodium- or lithium-based densifier, depending on slab porosity and interior environment. This hardens the concrete, reduces dusting, and enhances light reflectivity. Densifier is allowed to fully react and cure before polishing resumes.

7. Protective Sealer or Guard Application

In residential and commercial settings, we offer breathable penetrating sealers or polishable guards that enhance stain resistance and deepen color tones. These protect against spills, dirt, and daily wear while maintaining the floor’s natural look.

6. Resin Polishing Process

Resin-bonded diamond pads are used in progressive stages (from 100 up to 1500 or 3000 grit) to develop the desired sheen — matte, satin, semi-gloss, or high-gloss. Each pass is vacuumed thoroughly and inspected to ensure a clean, consistent finish.

🔸 Design Note: Colored dyes or stains can be introduced at this stage for custom tones or borders.

8. Optional Burnishing

To amplify gloss and stain repellency, we can burnish the surface using high-speed polishing equipment. This is often selected for showrooms, salons, galleries, or kitchens where maximum light reflectivity or “mirror gloss” is desired.
